While long-tail asbestos losses continued to grow slowly in the background, recent large-scale liability losses seemed to be dominated by shorter-tail events such as Deepwater Horizon or Lac Megantic.  In the last two years, the landscape suddenly appears to be shifting with the emergence of bodily injury litigation from talc, glyphosate, opioids and sports concussions.  Does this presage a new era of latent long-tail risk?  Is the industry prepared to help its clients manage this risk?  Are these four the largest risks out there, or are larger risks potentially waiting in the wings?
