ChemMeta Update: Comprehensive Coverage of Dietary Supplements 700 350 Meghan Dengler

October 20th 2020: Comprehensive coverage of dietary supplements is now available in ChemMeta®!

Three-quarters of all U.S. adults report taking a dietary supplement. And the scary thing is that dietary supplements are deemed safe until proven otherwise! How is that possible? Great question.

Unlike drugs, the FDA does not have the authority to review dietary supplement products for safety and effectiveness before they are marketed to consumers. That means if you’re tasked with managing the risk posed by dietary supplement products, you have a Herculean task on your hands.

We have some good news for you. ChemMeta now tracks the science investigating the safety of all dietary supplements marketed in the United States – more than 1,200 hypotheses of bodily injury spanning some 2,470 unique dietary supplement ingredients, with more to come.
