March 25th 2020: Praedicat’s Latest Model Release
We are pleased to announce the release of enhancements to Praedicat’s casualty catastrophe model available in Oortfolio®. This model enhancement is the result of an in-depth quantitative analysis of defense costs over the life cycle of mass litigation. Our latest release is the first-ever comprehensive probabilistic model of the dynamics of defense and indemnity in mass torts.
Incorporating new models of mass litigation activation and “duty-to-defend” catastrophe, this release captures observed patterns of litigation dynamics and achieves a higher level of accuracy for our models, specifically for the early years of a mass litigation event, and for the frequency of defense-cost only litigation for small and medium size enterprises.
