United States– August 20th, 2019: Praedicat has been awarded a patent for Corporate Risk Visualization.

Praedicat is proud to announce the award of U.S. Patent number 10,387,818, “Visualization Interface for Determining Company Risk.”  The patent describes an innovative approach to visualize corporate liability risk that is available in Praedicat’s CoMeta® software.

The visualization, called the “dartboard,” is a colorful and intuitive interactive underwriting tool used by underwriters and risk engineers at global insurers to quickly spot the largest liability risks present in a company’s or industry’s business activities.  In CoMeta, the risk data represented in the dartboard is identified from peer-reviewed scientific journals then algorithmically linked to the companies that are exposed to the risks.  Underwriters can interact with the visualization to learn more about the underlying risks.

According to Bob Reville, Praedicat’s CEO, “The shape of the visualization was inspired by an underwriter that once told us that underwriting often feels like throwing darts at a dartboard.”   The patent covers the way the underlying risk information dynamically determines the shape and colors of the visualization.
